I have just finished my second colouring competition and once again there were countless amazing entries (110 to be exact up from 91 last year)! It was incredibly hard picking the winners and I’m very pleased to show you the winning entries below. Thank you again to everyone who took part!!
I would like to say a big thank you to Staedtler NZ who kindly donated the amazing Staedtler products for the prize packs.
Grand Prize Winner
James (aged 14)
I was absolutely blown away by James’s incredible entry! His skills are far beyond his years, and he has a very good eye for colour and detail. I also love the subtle washes that he’s painted in the background, transforming it from a colouring page into a fully compete artwork.
For this piece James used Prisma Premier coloured pencils, nail polish remover for blending the pencil, white Posca paint pen and Derwent Inktense pencils for the background washes.
0-7 yrs Winner
McKenna (6)
I love how there's so much creativity in McKenna’s artwork including the fluffy poi, glitter and background elements. So cute!
8-12 yrs Winner
Juno (10)
I was so impressed with Juno’s creativity and felt like she thought outside the box to come up with something really unique, contemporary and striking.
13-17 yrs Winner
Samantha (15)
Samantha blew me away with her digital illustration. She used a tablet and photoshop to create this unique artwork. I really loved the addition of the bumblebee, butterfly and lady bugs as it's given her artwork so much character.
18+ yrs Winner
Debbie (36)
Debbie has done such a fabulous job and I love how vibrant and eye-catching her artwork is. A special mention has to also go to Debbie's 8yr old daughter Olive, who also did a stand-out piece in the competition too.
